About the Project:
In collaboration with Unitech Construction Management Ltd., Mode Projects is providing on-site execution, including site supervision, carpentry, and labour support for the development of a new purpose-built mental health unit within the Whitehorse General Hospital. The project transforms a previously unused shelled space into a fully functional care unit, seamlessly integrated with the existing Emergency and Intensive Care departments.
Our team’s work is focused on bringing this vision to life with precision and care—constructing a safe, supportive, and thoughtfully designed environment for mental health care. The unit includes private patient rooms, secure safe rooms for individuals in crisis, and welcoming group therapy spaces that encourage connection, healing, and community support.
A key feature of the project is the outdoor accessory space, designed to give patients access to nature and fresh air as part of their recovery process. By working closely with Unitech, we are proud to contribute to a facility that meets the critical needs of both patients and healthcare providers, and stands as a meaningful investment in the well-being of the Yukon community.
